Our Mission
At Rivera Senior Citizen Centers Action Group (RSCCAG), our mission is to enhance the wellbeing of seniors in our communities. We are dedicated to providing essential care and critical housing for our senior population, ensuring they live with dignity and respect.
FULFILLING OUR SENIOR COMMITMENT
Our Commitment
Charity and Educations Services are always provided free of charge in our community. The services and activities below were exclusively formed to serve the needs of ARSCA's Senior members.
RSCCAG 's SER program, AKA "Service, Employment and Redevelopment" program is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor for seniors. As a SER host agency we provide training in different positions, such as Maintenance, Painting, Carpentry, Plumbing, landscaping, office administration, clerical, housekeeping. Etc. so that our community members can re-enter the work force. Our participants are 55 years old and over. They work and train from 18-28 hours per week onsite and always under supervision.
We also offer a variety of activities to keep our residents engaged and active - all classes are supervised:
- Arts and Crafts - to maintain creativity, manual dexterity, mental acuity
- Zumba - to promote physical health, flexibility & longevity
- Bingo - to bolster community involvement & social development
- Karaoke - to celebrate heritage, tradition & personal expression
RSCCAG seeks donations from vendors, such as food, drinks, prizes, gifts etc. We collaborate with local contractors and businesses for special events for our residents at the Alejandro Rivera Senior Citizen Apartments.
We have onsite workshops and vendor fairs throughout the year to educate our residents on health care, nutrition and meal cooking, emergency preparedness and programs available that offer assistance if needed. All these charitable events and education enable us to continue to serve our seniors at ARSCA.
